Scotch! The Story of Whisky

A 3 x 1 hour series looks at the history of Whisky from illicit stills in the 18th century to the colossus of Multinational Companies now selling Scotland’s greatest gift,  all around the World.

Fronted by whisky-loving actor and enthusiast David Hayman, we travelled, literally, across the world. From Tomatin to Tokyo, and Harris to Hobart. Calling in at Speyside, Islay and the Central Belt of Scotland on our way.

It was a great journey. We all learned a lot about this extraordinary industry,  and the drink that has placed Scotland on the map all over the World.  As a cultural and economic icon it is unsurpassed in its respresentation of who we are as a country, and a culture.

It was a hard job but some tasting was necessary to actually understand what we were dealing with!  On a personal level I fell in love with Nikka “straight from the cask” blend and was shocked and delighted to be served Nikka and soda already mixed, from a draught tap in a bar in Japan.

The DVD of the programmes is available for purchase.
